Project Mercy Ethiopia is an international non-profit humanitarian organization working in different regions of Ethiopia to improve the well-being and livelihood of people in the rural communities. We are seeking to hire an experienced, highly motivated, and qualified person to fill the vacant position of Senior Accountant. The incumbent will manage and oversee the financial records, ensuring that financial statements are accurate, compliant with relevant regulations, and prepared in a timely manner.

Gross Salary 27,085 – 30,597 ETB depending on work experiences
Position Senior Accountant

Principal Duties include:
Verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling accounts payable and receivable; producing error-free accounting reports
Producing Accounting reports and presenting their results,
Summarizing and reporting monthly, quarterly, and annually, the financial status.
Review and recommend improvements to accounting systems and procedures
Prepare financial statements and produce a budget according to the established schedule,
Assist External Auditors in their engagement with Project Mercy’s Auditing,
Plan, assign and review accounting staff’s work
Accomplishment of other related tasks
About You
Required Knowledge, Skills and Personal Attributes:
Graduate in Accounting and Finance from a recognized (accepted) University, with additional certification (ACCA) is a plus,
Work experience as a Senior Accountant
Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
In-depth understanding of both Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and International Public Sector Accounting Standard (IPSAS),
Time Management
Team work
Communication
Excellent level in computer software (office pack Word, Excel, PowerPoint )
Financial Report Writing Skill,
Education:
BA Degree /Master’s Degree in relevant field (Accounting, Finance and related field, )
Experience:
Five years and above as a Senior Accountant, Finance Expert, and/or Accountant or related.
